My artworks consist of assembled coloured paper interlocked by unique folds. The physical act of folding paper both enables linear and multi radial interweaved construction, yet simultaneously fold backwards disrupt composition continuity. Creating these paper compositions is the result of my colour studies. I test the three properties of colour: hue, intensity and value in order to determine a consistent formula-scheme on a precise performance of colour layering, progression and rendering on a three-dimensional sculpture.
It should be considered that a simple act, a fold, produces a complex reaction. While folding, we can bring faraway points together. A fold in a piece of paper changes the memory of the paper -it modifies the paper’s shape, inherent uniformity and the position that the paper most wants to be in-. A single fold creates a productive synergy of an entire sheet of paper.
